Short explanations, descriptions, logins, passwords, etc. of the main websites and programs that we will be using this year. This page will be updated continually as I learn more and problem shoot.
Using personal computers at home: Granite School District works with Google. Your child's email is actually a Google account. They can get on any computer (even a Mac? Let me know if that is not true) and login to Google. When they login, they will have access to Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Slides, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc. These apps and websites are the tools that Granite School District would like the kids to become comfortable using. They do not need their Chromebook from school to access their Google account. Chromebooks: Your student knows their login and password.
* Signing in with Google: Students need to use their Granite District “Email” address to login to Google and sites like Readworks, Google Classroom, etc. Their email address is the first 4 letters of their first name, first 4 letters of their last name, first 4 numbers of their 9-number and @granitesd.org. (Example: A person named Jane Doe #97654321 would have the email address [email protected])
Please turn off the Chromebooks each night when they are charging.
Google Classroom: This is a link in their Granite Bookmarks (bookmarks bar.) Or, they can go to the "waffle"/9 dots on google.com and click on Google Classroom.
Some links and information can be found there. I will be streamlining this as we go along.
Brainpop: class login: pastry4731 - Login: your “9” number - Password: 123456
Sora: Your kids have access to an online library where they can check out books/read books, etc. The link to this is on the home page of this website. I believe they also have a link to this in their Granite Bookmarks tab.
